sachin in fine nick. (3rd test, ind vs aus,2008)

the 68 by sachin reminds every one of his fans of the golden days. the disdain with which he played white over the midwicket and the cuts and drives were simply typical of vintage sachin.

particularly the late cut off stuart clark and the above the head shot over thirdman off brett lee were a treat to watch. this over the head shot behind the stumps when faced with a bouncer is an invention of sachin which he first played in bloemfontein, south africa 2000-2001.

coming in when the score was 27/2, he was never apprehensive and straightaway went for his strokes. maybe he is enjoying the last few years of his career.

once nirmal shekar wrote about fedex. the level at which fedex plays his game and the thought process going on his mind can never be understood by mortals like us. maybe a tiger woods or a sachin can only match his prowess.

i used to think in the same lines when thinking about raja. the level at which ir is thinking can be understood only by a mozart or beethoven or a bach and not by mere mortals like us.

sachin's greatness lies in withstanding the tremendous pressure under which he plays everytime he comes to the crease.

thank god, recently he is relieved of the pressure and we can have some more years of good cricket to watch.
