my teens

am new to dhool.com. but the amazing details here remind me of the days, i spent in a vetti group in mylapore. daily evenings we will start talking, a bunch of vettis. it will start from useless debates 'why did gavaskar get out to de freitas in the first over of the semi finals wantonly' and travel the entire gamut of the universe touching almost every subject like 'thenandal pictures latest distribution enna', 'which is the worst movie of karnan, enga pattan sothu or jambu' , politics, local news and end up with ' why did kapil dev tell the media that he learnt swinging the ball from manoj prabhakar', thus making a complete round. the same will continue the next day, with change of celebrities and issues.

sometimes, there will be a huge crowd listening to us. that will make us even more vociferous. well mostly i remained a spectator only. all these will happen just in front of the sannidi of srinivasa perumal in 'kesava perumal koil street'. pavam, the deity had to endure all the ketta varthais exchanged during the hot debates.

thanks for reminding me of the [g]olden days. the discussions here and tfmpage are very similar to that of my supracited experience. but i thought this sort of vetti arattai are unique to mylapore, triplicane and may be purasawalkam. but to know this is an uniform phenomenon throughout tamilnadu is really very heartening. thanks
