Recently on 12.8.12 We performed Kanakabishekam to my maternal grandfather ( Amma's Periyappa) Sri. Thathangudi Nataraja Iyer and celebrated his great and worthy journey of life. He is 96 years young and a living example of simplicity and a tall beacon of yesteryear values.
'Pra poutra janana shanthi' is performed when a man's son's son's son arrives in the family. Generally Kanakabishekam is performed to the God and great Sadhus. But our holy scriptures allow this for someone who has the blessings of seeing his great grand son paternally in his lifetime.
