detective naradha - last classic of ir-vamsi

this was the last time they both created magic. of course the magic is by raja and vamsi the spoilsport.

i think vamsi wanted to make a spoof of the erstwhile telugu movies. but in the process he himself overtook all of them and became a stamp of telugu movie atrocities.

my bro used to tell 'telugu padathula ore dance step daan irukum. onnu heroine idupula kaiya vappan. illa than idupulaye kaiya vachundu irupan. idha vitta vera movements-e theriadhu'.particularly krishna and anr.

the whacky legacy was carried forward till the millenium by vamsi.

that's why k.vishwanath was adored like anything in andhra. his movies were devoid of all the telugish goofiness.

of course in thamizh also so many directors have killed raja's music. but no single person can be credited with killing all the songs of raja like vamsi.

this song in 'detective naradha' is a classic remix of the song 'prema yatralaku' from gundamma katha.

Directed by Kamalakara Kameshwara Rao. With Suryakantham, Rama Rao Taraka Nandamuri, Nageshwara Rao Akkineni, the film was released in 1962.

in thamizh also the song is there as 'kadhal yaathiraiku brindavanamum, theertha yathiraiku rameswaramum'

spb and chitra are splendid as always and take us on a nostalgic trip. spb reminds ghantasala in his voice.

raja weaves his own melody into this song and u wont notice a bit of alienism.
those who have not heard the original will definitely think it is a normal continuous song. and those who have heard the original will wonder the genius of raja for his class act. his usage of old age instruments are simply superb.

what a long prelude and 1st interlude!!! wow

'yavvanala poovulanni navvu thunna thottalo prema yatra cheddama.....'

the last and the least, forgive vamsi. scapegoats are mohanbabu and mohini.

alli billi kalala from chettu kinda pleader

ennoda distant relative shiva-nu oru paiyan kalahasthi-la irundhan. it is in tn-andhra border. andha oorula endha padam release aanalum 100 naal daan.

telugu, thamizh ellam paarpaanga. paarapatcham illama vijayakanth-oda 'eeti' padatha kooda 100 naal ottina perundhanmaiyaana ooru.

avangaloda ore pozhudhu pokku cinema parkardhu daan-nu nenaikiren.

avanukku telugu daan mother tongue. thamizh oralavukku theriyum. he used to visit my periappa house at saidapet.

appo ilayarajavoda telugu paatu kaettu telugu kathukanumnu crazy-a irundha kaalam.

indha padam appo daan release aachu. casette vaangindu vandhutan enga anna. spb daan ella paatukum munnadi introduction. that was another added attraction those days. i have heard 4-5 movies with spb's intro to songs. this movie indrudu chandrudu and ashoka chakravarthy et al. andha dialogue ellam artham theriamale manapadam ayiduthu. avvalavu thadavai kaetirukome!!

this particular movie 'chettu kinda pleader' literally means 'marathadi lawyer'. ahdavadhu 'meendum kokila' kamal madhiri case illadha lawyer. idhu appuram daan therinjadhu.

me and my brother were pestering our dear shiva to tell us the meaning of 'c k p'. he immediately told us that it means 'chedikku keezha velayadaravan'. his great thamizh knowledge was such.

me and my brother were wondering. telugu padam comedya irukum therium. title koodava ivvalavu kenathanama vappanga-nu ore doubt. but if you see this song u will wonder what on earth made vamsi conceive such a picturisation. andha paeru kooda indha moonjigalukku evvalavo parava illa, i mean the make up and accessories!!

still we were not convinced. we wanted to check out the word by word meaning. chettu-na enna-nu kaetom. he said 'adhaanna indha maanga thenga ellam irukume adhu daan' appadinu sonnan. so we figured out it is maram and not chedi.

next is kinda. he clearly said kinda means 'down' or 'under'. nalla velai 'down under'-nu purinjundu edho australia-vula edutha padam-nu confuse aagama irundhom.

next pleader. actually it is an english word. one who pleads is a pleader. appo english arivum kedayadhu engaluku. pleader edho telugu varthai-nu nenachundu avana artham kaetom.

this is the height of thamizh kolai. he said 'velayadaravan'. we were again awestruck. dei yaaravadhu marathuku keezha velayadaravan-nu title veppangalada-nu avanaiye kaetom.

he said adhellam enaku theriadhu. idhu daan andha varthaiku artham-nu sollitan. we were resolute like vikramadithyan. vedalam evvalavu thadavai marathu mela yaerinalum satrum manam thalarama thirupi avan kittaye kaetom 'enna velayattu'? appadi-nu.

adhukku avan sonna badhilai kaetu we both were laughing laughing and laughing like anything.
he said 'adhaan indha court-la ellam lawyer velayaduvaangale anna'!!!!.

ada paavi, vaadhadardhukum velayadardhukum vidhyasam theriadha nadhariya irukie nee-nu solli vizhundu vizhundu sirichom.

rajendra prasad and jigija with price-tags and stickers all over their faces!!! what an imagination. idhuku shiva sonna title evvalavo mel. hats off to vamsi.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7PkCo90V6o

i think i will have this doubt till i go to my grave.

how did raja score such wonderful songs one after another for vamsi even after seeing all these kirukku thanam?

i wonder. i really wonder.

it is rajendra prasad and kinnera. not jigija. yaara irundha enna. moonjiye theriama roja poovum sticker-um otti vachirukan manushan.

mattamana rasanaikku oru ellaiye illadha aalu indha vamsi-nu nenaikiren.

particularly in the scene where he ottifies ear rings and spectacles in a tree and both rajendra prasad and kinnera adjust their faces to the earrings and specs. wow. vamsi vaazhga.
